I
wasn't always a web designer. I have many interest.
As a child, I started singing in my hometown of Pueblo, CO with
my family's gospel group, known as "The Chandler Family".
When we were younger, we were called the "Chandleretts".
Mom and Dad, Rev. F. L. Chandler and Mrs. Rosetta Chandler
always encouraged each me and my siblings to do our best with
the gift God gave us. I believe each of us has tried to do
just that
I
have always been active in school, church and at home. I
loved singing, dancing, playing sports and working on
computers; so when the time came to go college, electing to
major in Entertainment with a minor in computers was natural.
In college, I starting a gospel choir, which became part of the
University of Southern Colorado's school curriculum. After
two years, I transferred to California's Institute of the arts,
a private college just outside Los Angeles, CA. There I founded
and directed the Cal Arts Gospel Extravaganza and was looking
into recording an album with a group when I decided to join some
of my friends at an open call audition for "Fame".. and I got
it!
You may recognize my picture now as the young lady who played
'Dusty Tyler' on the innovative television series "Fame". You
may also recognize me from guest appearances on a Movie of the
Week called "Give Me My Child" staring Valerie Bertenelii, "A
Different World, a Bill Cosby Production, Jerry Lewis Telethon
or Lour Rawl's Parade of Stars. I've also been featured in
numerous national tours, plays and musicals: "Dream Girls", The
Gospel Truth", "Wait Until Dark", "Brigadoon", "Out Of The
Frying Pan" and "Harlem Suite" with Maurice Hines and Jennifer
Holiday. I've also been featured as the lead soloist
with the Philharmonic Orchestra in Los Angeles for their
Christmas program. and I earned a Drama-Logue Award for
outstanding performance in the lead role of 'Effie White' in
"Dream Girls", the nation tour.
In between all of these "gigs" I found I always had my computer
and the desire to create web pages. I still have a strong
passion for it and I suppose I always will.
